Wait and Shut Up

Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Sounds very simple. But it s hard! I have been praying for the same things for 33 years. Am I tired of praying for those things? Am I weary from watching? Has my thankfulness gone down the tubes? How many times have I approached God with the same issue and said: "Come ON already!!"?

Waiting. It seems to be talking about waiting. I am pretty good about waiting for some things. Other things, like waiting for a computer program to work, will have me impatient in about 3 seconds. I have been training myself to wait to hear what someone has to say. That was a tough one, as my mind works quickly, and has already anticipated sometimes what the other is about to say or do. So I must, with full control over myself, wait. Wait and shut up.

Bu-u-u-t-t... No, wait.
I was just gotta to say.. No you just do not gotta say anything.
I... no, others.
I, I, I-aye, Me, Me, Me, Me-Me! Nope.
Na-a.
No way, no how, not at all.
Grumble, Grumble!!!

It seems like when we begin to mature, say at 50 or 60 years old, we start learning how to wait.

    BARB'S ARTWORK
It seems to fall into the category of Aleatoric Art. I just scribble &  it looks
    like something
    to me, so
    I turn it into
    whatever I see.

Aleatoricart posted this description in September 2011 (this is an elevated view in my opinion):

"Aleatoric Art is the ultimate collaboration between
man and the elements. Happenstance, randomness
    and a twist
of fate’s unwilling wrist go in halfseys
with some of the most outstanding visionaries
the planet can boast in a peaceful
    yet often violent serendipity of
    creative cacophony
to produce works of art that go far beyond those
    of mere mortals alone."
