Some people might think traveling would be too much for a person with disabilities. We had quite an adventure, and experiences we probably wouldn't have if I didn't have some difficulties!
We met lots of people. We took our time and savored every moment. So many people are willing to help. You see the best in people, and some times the worst.
I am grateful that we had the courage to 'do it anyway'. To be able to see God's creation, and just 'be' was a terrific plan!
We have to take lots of equipment. You never know if my body can walk or if it needs to sit. Wheelchair? Walker? Crutches? An arm to lean on? Always need something.. Still, we don't want to miss anything!
The trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Monument was amazing. Altitude and flying are not a good combination. But as the days went on, I got used to all of it and found real pleasure in all of it!
Practicing Love is Patient, Love is Kind, Love keeps no record of wrongs, saved the trip. It takes a lot of patience, kindness and forgiveness to travel when your body doesn't cooperate. You want to do everything, but sometimes can't. To make wise decisions about resting, drinking plenty of water, asking for help and just 'being' takes a lot of energy sometimes. I am learning, and I am loving the journey.
An Attitude of Gratitude!
