Send in the Cavalry!!
At my job, we loved to support the community. Over the years we did Chili Cook Offs, Street Fairs, Volunteered our services to the Junior League, and we also participated in the San Carlos Belmont Mothers Club.
Once a year, near Mother's Day, the San Carlos Belmont Mother's club would have an event where all mothers could come and get hair cuts and massages, and goodies to eat, with no charge. It was so much fun! We usually worked our normal 12 hour day and then went down to the Twin Pines center and did hair for another 3 hours!
When we finished and cleaned up, usually around 9 or 10 p.m., we got back in our cars and everyone went home. Our parking places were spread all over the paring lot. I was behind a building, in a 'blue' spot.
One time as I headed to my car, I had a tremendous dizzy spell.. I was so dizzy that I couldn't move my head. I was 3 feet from my car, frozen in place. I knew my phone was on my belt buckle, but couldn't look down.
I was standing there alone, in the dark. asking the Lord, "Please Help me! I don't know what to do. Everyone has left and I am alone in this dark parking lot! Help me!"
Just then my phone rang. It was my friend Gloria. She asked if I was okay. I said not really, I am terribly dizzy and everyone has left and I am scared.. But wait! I hear something.. People running! God sent in the troops! I hear my coworkers hollering at me from the distance. They are running around the building to me!" I hung up and there were my co workers, asking if I was okay. I told them what was gong on.. and they said, something made us concerned about you, so we came to check on you!
Our God is mighty to save! He sent in the troops! Gloria mentioned later that she had no idea why she called me. No understanding, but she knew it was urgent!
Now I don't drive at night alone any more.. And I am in awe how my Heavenly Father cares for me!
