Loss

I can’t find it~
The place I always stood
The confidence to step out
The reaction to the good.
Loss comes before me
A creature of its own
To taunt and hurt and forecast
A future filled with doom.
My Shepherd comes to greet me
To sing His faithful song
Of Healing and Redemption
Of life that’s gone so wrong.
My eyes are tired from crying
My knees worn out from prayer
Oh how does someone walk away
Not looking everywhere?
Boulders look too high to climb
Rivers far too swift
Behind them all a Gentle Hand
To Comfort, Heal and Lift.
Come face to face with longing
Come see the Gracious Tide
Forgiveness Growth and Music
A Balm in which to hide.
By Grace and Only Grace
I currently can stand
And face my foes unhindered
In the beauty of the land.
My lot is cast but that’s okay
My future is secure
I place myself in You again
There’s so much more to learn.
