Bent Down, but Not Broken

I worked with clay for the first time yesterday. Kensington Place gave a workshop for residents’ loved ones. Dr. Marsha Nelson was our guide. I never realized how important playing is to me! It gives me balance with all the outward focus that I have. I loved getting dirty!

My figure was interesting. I formed her with my eyes closed, then put on the finishing touches. I can call her Bent Down, but not Broken.

She kept sinking down, her head closer to the table each time. I’d prop her up, and she would slowly sink, and I didn’t notice it until her head was almost in her lap!! I was too busy forming her knees, etc.

Finally I built up her chest, and put a big heart on the outside of her chest. Then she could stay upright as she kneeled, in humble submission, ready to receive.

This began as a drawing of my clay, but she turned into an angel, or maybe Ginger Rogers! 07.02.2018

    BARB'S ARTWORK
It seems to fall into the category of Aleatoric Art. I just scribble &  it looks
    like something
    to me, so
    I turn it into
    whatever I see.

Aleatoricart posted this description in September 2011 (this is an elevated view in my opinion):

"Aleatoric Art is the ultimate collaboration between
man and the elements. Happenstance, randomness
    and a twist
of fate’s unwilling wrist go in halfseys
with some of the most outstanding visionaries
the planet can boast in a peaceful
    yet often violent serendipity of
    creative cacophony
to produce works of art that go far beyond those
    of mere mortals alone."
