As I wonder what this day will hold, I am reminded once again that my first priority is to seek the Lord’s face and His desires for me. My desires often run in different directions and I can become confused over what is right and what isn’t so right.
Excerpt from today’s Jesus Calling:" Instead of single-mindedly pursuing some goal, talk with Me about it. Let the Light of My Presence shine on this pursuit, so that you can see it from My perspective. If the goal fits into My plans for you, I will help you reach it. If it is contrary to My will for you, I will gradually change the desire of your heart. Seek Me first and foremost; then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece."
What is it that I am holding back? Where do I want my own way consistently? These are questions I pose to the Most High God as I look into my day and into my future. I want my life to reflect His light at all costs. Nothing is a higher goal. But striving for it is the opposite of reflection. I am absorbing His light as I strive. Only when I give myself whole heartedly to Him, will I shine His light. My light isn’t so great. Ineed to see where I strive and what I strive for clearly. I don’t want to be deceived!
Absorb vs. Reflect
My desire is to reflect
I tend to absorb
Like a black hole,
Consuming all around me thoughtlessly.
Where is the mirror?
What is the image?
Who cares anyway?
The black hole exponges all.
Break me out of here!
Keep me far from this place!
I don’t like the self-centeredness
Of this black hole expression.
To be free to Reflect
To be sane and calm
To give You my all
And show Who You are.
This is my desire
To reflect so all shall see
Who You are
Instead of me.
